Intention
I am remembering …

Inspiration
My intention in creating this was a combo of things. The state of the world. Things going on in my life. The Japanese Wabi Sabi philosophy of finding beauty in the imperfect. And Leonard Cohen’s lyrics, “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”

The gold metallic paint in between the rocks represents the crack, the imperfection, the love that can mend the broken in ways that may have once been impossible.

The intention for this heart art expression is: “I am remembering…”

What we remember, or remember to let go of, is different for each of us.

Personally, I had so many things breaking, ending, or blowing up in my life while painting this, that I don’t remember what music I listened to.

I do remember that I kept saying the intention “I am remembering…” and then I would speak it, whatever came up. Sometimes it was personal, and sometimes it was collective. Sometimes it felt ancient, and other times it was a simple call to remember the joy and beauty of right now.

Those stones are what this year felt like to me. Broken apart. And deep support. Countless lessons in all the endings. And equally blessings in what is still to be.

I am remembering …

I don’t know how the pieces go together, but I know and trust they do. Sometimes things fall apart so life can come together in a better way.

I am remembering …

I am resilient.

I am remembering …

Joy and sorrow can exist in the same space.

I am remembering …

We can choose a new direction. Love is what mends this world.

Your turn.

I am remembering …
