Set of marbled hearts
Inspiration
This set was 20 years in the making.
It all started with wanting to work with smaller paper I already had instead of buying larger sheets of watercolor paper.
Enter using the marbled paper I made 20 years ago and was waiting for the right time to use. Now was the time.
I was only going to create one but had so much fun with the red painting, I kept going.
That fire within inspired me to keep going and work with other rich deep jewel colors. I was also inspired by the beautiful dresses and costumes in the Frankenstein movie, although as an empath, the movie was too much for me! And of course, green was also inspired by Wicked and the Emerald City.
The paper is deeply textured, painted with iridescent paint, on top of watercolor paper. The hearts have a sense of mystery and contemplation about them. The intentions are ones that may have always been there until life told you to tone it down to fit in, to not make a scene, and be a good girl. They are about reclaiming and choosing the choice of YOU and what lights you up.
